The swordfish is an apex predator that utilizes its speed, keen eyesight, and strength to dominate the seas.  It chooses when and where to hunt and is not preyed upon by its rivals.  The unique blood vessel structure of the swordfish allows them to warm their eyes and brains in cold waters. This gives them a major advantage when hunting by allowing them to process information more quickly and see their envirnoment more clearly.
