Founder & CEO
Marcos Briceno serves as founding partner and CEO endeavoring to enable the entire Swordfish Energy team to be successful both corporately and individually. Prior to founding Swordfish Energy, Mr. Briceno achieved 22 years of experience in asset management and operations, including 6 years leading strategy and engineering as Vice President of Asset Planning and Development at Advance Energy Partners, a private upstream oil and gas company backed by EnCap Investments; and 10 years managing completions, EOR, CCS, and development at ConocoPhillips.
Mr. Briceno holds a Masters of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelors of Science in Petroleum Engineering from University de Oriente - Venezuela.
Founder & CFO
Patrick Sherman serves as founding partner and CFO ensuring healthy financial reporting, access to capital for company growth, and profitable value creation. Prior to founding Swordfish Energy, Mr. Sherman brings 19 years of experience in the energy industry leading early- and middle-stage growth, finance, and strategy including 7 years as Director of Finance at Advance Energy Partners, a private upstream company backed by EnCap Investments. Mr. Sherman was formerly a founder at Rushmore Energy, a downstream power and gas company, and various roles of increasing responsibility at Fulcrum Energy, a power and gas asset management company.
Mr. Sherman holds a Masters in Business Administration from University of Texas and a Bachelors in Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University. He is also a veteran of the United States Army having served in Iraq and Kuwait.
Vice President - Business Development & Land
Oil and gas industry leader with 15+ years of extensive experience in land management and upstream commercial transactions. Prior to joining Swordfish, Josh was a Partner and Chief Commercial Officer of NonOpWells, Inc. Josh began his career at Chesapeake focusing on Texas and Marcellus operations. He later moved to Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Callon Petroleum Company focusing on large scale A&D transactions. Josh holds a BBA in Energy Management from the University of Oklahoma, and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Geoscience Advisor
Ed Caamano serves as Senior Advisor, Geoscience employing his significant experience in the discovery and economic development of oil and gas reserves in evaluating potential acquisitions, informing ideal development targets, and guiding company strategy. Prior to joining Swordfish Energy, Mr. Caamano has achieved 40+ years of experience as a geoscientist in the global oil and gas industry. Most recently, Mr. Caamano was Founding Partner and VP of Geoscience at Advance Energy Partners where he was impactful in the characterization and discovery of highly profitable development targets in the Bone Spring and Wolfcamp formations in Lea County, NM. Mr. Caamano has also held various leadership roles at Pioneer Natural Resources and ConocoPhillips, including both domestic and international posts.
Mr. Caamano holds a Masters in Science of Geology from Rutgers University
Principal Geologist
Victoria Pena serves as Principal Geologist utilizing her expertise in conventional and unconventional plays with proven success identifying value through reservoir characterization for both mature and green-field developments. Prior to joining Swordfish Energy, Ms. Pena brings 22+ years of experience on a variety of positions ranging from Operations to Development Geologist in domestic and international arenas collaborating in multidisciplinary teams. Past positions include 10 years of experience as a Sr Development Geologist with ConocoPhillips, and most recently 4 years as a Staff Geologist at Advance Energy Partners overseeing all the Geology related drilling activities for all of Advance's drilling campaigns in the Delaware basin, both New Mexico and Texas.
Ms. Pena holds a Bachelor of Science in Geologic Engineering from University de Los Andes - Venezuela.
Reservoir Engineering Manager
Parker Jones serves as Reservoir Engineering Manager bringing 13 years in reservoir engineering experience at upstream operators, both in A&D and asset development. Prior to joining Swordfish, he served as Lead Reservoir Engineer at Callon where he was responsible for A&D evaluations and asset development strategy. At Callon, he combined his subsurface expertise and commercial knowledge to drive value accretion through both strategic acquisitions and asset development in challenging subsurface environments.
He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
